In a loving home in the city of London, Dalmatian parents, Pongo and Perdita happily raise their Dalmatian puppies, until the monstrous Cruella De Vil plots to steal them for her new fur coat!

Join all the dogs of London, as they daringly rescue the puppies from Cruella and her bumbling henchmen. With a delightfully fun score, lovable characters, and one of the most deliciously evil villains in the Disney canon, this stage adaptation is certain to charm and delight all audiences.

On February 10th there will be an evening performance @ 7:00pm / February 11th there will be 2 shows. A matinee at 2:00pm and an evening show at 7:00pm.

The kids will be in rehearsal at the Cultural Centre from 9-3 all next week and will open their show 7pm on Friday 10th February and run two shows on Saturday 11th February at 2pm and 7pm. We have been rehearsing since September and are very excited to be bringing the show to the community. We have students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 in our cast and have had amazing support from Central School staff and parents with costumes, props, publicity.

Make a Quilt and Make a Difference

Them local quilters! ...they're always up to something!  Checkout the great way these local artists have been using their artistic talents to benefit the learning minds of today!

The quilt featured in this picture above was made by Janette Schneider with the assistance of Olga Braun.  They are part of a local quilting guild that has donated quilts in the past to the Salvation army for local families in need.

Two months ago, Janette took some of her extra quilting blocks that had been set aside and decided to make a quilt for donation to the SD60 meals program.  The program is coordinated by Vice-Principal Dave Burridge and supports students in need by providing healthy snacks and meals so that they can better focus on their studies.  There are several in-town schools that benefit from this funding and have both a breakfast and lunch program in place.  In addition, all the students in these schools benefit by having the option of purchasing healthy food at cost.

>The meals program is part of a broader Ministry of Education initiative called Community Links that provides targeted funding to districts for staffing, resources and programs to meet the needs of vulnerable students.  While this provides some base funding, some of the increasing costs, such as healthy food, means the program relies additionally on both private and corporate sponsorship.   This is another great example of a local arts group making a difference in Fort St. John.

Raffle tickets for this beautiful quilt cost only $2.00 and are available at Robert Ogilvie School, Central School and the School Board Office (across from the legion).  Draw date is February 29th

Central School Requests Help with Clay Delivery

pottery_2.jpgThe Central School PAC is looking for someone travelling to Edmonton in the next couple of weeks who might be able to bring back a load of clay for the pottery module at Central School. The following gives the info on where to pick it up. If you are going down that way, or know someone who is, please give Niki Hedges, PAC Vice President,  a call at the number below.

The pottery module is an important part of Central's Fine Arts curriculum and any person or business that could help would be appreciated.

IMPORTANT!!!! The clay cannot freeze, be left outside or overnight in these cold temperatures, so it does make it a little harder to bring up for us.

The boxes of clay are 44lbs and about the size of 2 shoe boxes. Any number of boxes that could be brought up to FSJ would be fabulous and the total needed this year is 20.
