Kyle Woolard is a guy from Virginia and currently he's a long way from home. Touring and promoting his band The Anatomy of Frank, Kyle has come through Fort St. John and headed up the Alaska Highway.
When asked about his first-time experience in Fort St. John and about playing at Egan's Open Mic, Kyle had these thoughts to share:
"I will honestly say it was one of the best shows in terms of the crowd's mood and people wanting to buy my CD. They were super supportive and appreciative. I'd definitely come back to Fort St John! I can't imagine how cool it would be to come back and do a full show...it's awesome to drive so far from home and find people digging my music. I loved it!
Here's what I learned about Fort St. John:
1) When it's cold in places like New York, people aren't very friendly. When it's really freaking cold like Fort St. John, people have to be friendly or else they can't bunch together to survive. Hence, Fort St. John is a friendly place.
2) The music scene happens a lot in restaurants. (Good food and music in one place!)
3) Everyone seems to know everyone!
4) It is the only place I know, where people can talk drunkenly-loud and still pay attention to what's going on on stage. This has never happened to me anywhere else.
5) If you didn't force yourself to go to sleep, you could talk to people for 82 consecutive hours following a show in Fort St. John."
Kyle will be playing a live show at the Dawson Creek Art Gallery on September 26th at 7 pm.
