About us?  Heck, enough about us, how about YOU!

So, although the title of this page is titled "About Us", a better name for it would be "About You".

We're assuming, that if you're looking at this page, you're living here in the North Peace Region area... or if you're not, you're either planning on passing through, or are possibly considering living here in the near future.

With that in mind, we can assure you that we actually have a lot in common... and if you don't mind, we'd like to take a moment to talk about some of the things that might be of interest to you.

First of all, whether you're living in the Peace Region or just passing through, we think that while you're here, you should enjoy it!  If you knew about all the exciting things that are happening in town, you're probably going to love it here, if you don't already do.

Second, we wanted to let you know, there are amazing people here doing amazing things and we want you to meet them.  Also, if you're particularly passionate about something (say a particular activity, for of art, or hobby), we want to connect you with all the people who are also interested in what you do!

So who is Northern Groove?

Well, think of it as a collection of contributors in this community that are loosly organized under the heading of "Northern Groove". We are ideally people from all different backgrounds, ages, and interests, who all want to help spread the word about the things we're involved in and invite others to get connected.

We are not a big government funded entity in any way...  We don't have an office, or a receptionist, or even any full-time staff.  The people involved are people like you, who care or the community.  The information provided by "Northern Groove", doesn't come from "Northern Groove", it comes from the people of the community.  It comes from people like you.

The small team of part-time "staff" for Northern Groove is small and mostly invisible.  We fix things that aren't working, work on making or services better and more effective, meet with people who want to support us, and deal with the huge pile of necessary paperwork needed for running any kind of organization. We operate as a business, so we can adapt quickly and keep up with a changing society.  We are funded by the local businesses and organizations of this region and help them in return through advertising and promotional services.

Most of our support comes from the people like you, businesses like where you work, and organizations that you're involved in who all benefit from having a great community like ours to enjoy and spend time in.
