2012 – The Year of The Water Dragon: Good Fortune – Everything is Going to Move. According to the Chinese Zodiac, the Year of 2012 is the Year of the Black Water Dragon, which begins on January 23, 2012 and ends on February 9, 2013. The Water Dragon Year occurs only every 60 years.
According to Chinese tradition, the water element dampens fire and creates wood which signifies growth…both are positive signs for the upcoming year. The dragon is a powerful and auspicious figure in Chinese Culture and water element bestows a more peaceful disposition to its fierce presence. It is said that the water dragon acts wisely and is willing to set its ego aside for the good of others. So while dragon years are notable for major changes… and sometimes disasters…… the Water Dragon is known to be tempered with wisdom and sensitivity.
Furthermore, under the influence of the Dragon it is a yang year. Yang Water is like a flowing river rather than a stagnant lake. Things will move, ideas flow, creativity abound, economies boom, and love blossom in this environment. It is likely to be an exciting year indeed.
