Family Fun in the Sun Week is here again! The Week is running from August 17th to August 21st and here are some of the awesome events you can check out!
Scavenger Hunt around FSJ (Aug 18)
Starting at the Visitor Information Center at 7 pm, families can participate in a scavenger hunt all around town. There will be great prizes. This event is free.
Movie in the Park at Centennial Park (Aug 19)
This a double feature movie showing in Centennial Park. There will be free popcorn and cotton candy for everyone. Please bring a blanket and chair. This event is free and starts at 8:00 pm.
Bike Rodeo and Motorcycle Show ‘n’ Shine at Centennial Park (Aug 20)
RCMP members will be in the NPLP parking lot at 11:00 am to provide bike safety and awareness to the public. There will also be an opportunity for locals to bring their motorcycles down to show them off to the community. This event is free.
There will be a cycle spin during the entire duration of the events this day. A few of the members will bike on stationary cycles for 5 hours and raise money for Cops for Cancer.
Family Passport Challenge at Centennial Park (Aug 20)
Families will sign up and receive a passport. Each passport will have activites that fall under 4 different categories: Arts and Crafts, Sports, and Music. Each family must participate in at least one activity from each category to complete the passport. Once the passport is complete, families can turn it into the Information booth and enter to win one of the grand prizes.
There will be a petting zoo, face painting and Frozen John will be making an appearance in the park. There will be a couple of vendors with cool treats. This event is free and runs from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.
RCMP Garage Sale and BBQ at Centennial Park (Aug 21)
The community will be able to donate items to sell in the RCMP garage sale that starts at 8:00 am. All proceeds will go towards Cops for Cancer. They will also have a BBQ from 11am-2pm.
Teddy Bear Picnic at Centennial Park (Aug 21)
Families with young children can come to Centennial Park from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and partake in activities such as Teddy Bear First Aid with local paramedics, fire safe house, craft tent with artSpace, teddy bear relays, and parachute games. There will be stilt walkers, fairies and clowns providing entertainment. Frozen John will be making rounds, there will be a photo booth, and face painting. This event is free.
