Daniel Wesley is coming to Egan's Pub on Thursday July 9th. This is a full band show, with two opening acts (to be announced). Tickets are on sale ONLINE at the NPCC Online Box Office for $15 in advance ($20 at the door).
If you haven't heard of Daniel Wesley you will soon! He is a rising Vancouver based musician with a sound reminiscent of Sublime, Jack Johnston... with influences like Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Mason Jennings, Bob Marley, Pearl Jam...
Their first single "Ooo Ohh" became the most requested song of 2007 in the city of Vancouver.
Here is a little blurb from taken from their myspace:
It began with an enthusiastic rise and Top 5 finish in the Fox Seeds Contest from Vancouver's 1 rock radio station, 99.3 THE FOX. Next came the release of their sophmore album, "Sing + Dance", which produced the outrageously popular first single "Ooo Ohh" - the most requested song of 2007 in the city of Vancouver! Their sound which is reminiscent of beach, roots, reggae and rock has earned them heavy rotation on The Fox and several weeks as the best selling album at Zulu Records. On top of those successes followed seven sold out shows, including one astounding night at the well known Richards on Richards. The culmination came with their headlining the annual Santa Fox Ball at the prestigious Commodore Ballroom, which sold out in a record five minutes! The opening of 2008 was marked with the rerelease of "Sing + Dance" to every outlet across Canada through Fontana North as well as back to back sold out shows at the Commodore Ballroom. The band also earned opening slot with The Trews on their cross-Canada tour. 2008 saw the band travel as far as China and all over Canada, and the USA in support of "Sing + Dance", earning them new fans and accolades with every show. They capped the year off with another sold out appearance at the Commodore Ballroom and the Santa Fox Ball. As of February 2009 the band will head back into the recording studio to record their 3rd album.
Tickets will go on sale later this afternoon -- so don't wait there is a limited capacity for this show and a short time to reserve tickets.
