According to the New York Times, Fort St. John is on the cusp of witnessing the singles event of the year - The Lonely Hearts Club Dinner.
That means if you're single, and a resident of Fort St. John, you'd be a fool to not be at Whole Wheat n' Honey next Saturday, February 13. This also means if you're currently in a relationship it would be acceptable to break it off just for the weekend so you can attend in the full spirit of the event.
The Lonely Hearts Club Dinner is the singles alternative to a Valentine's event. With that in mind, and in interest of having equal numbers of ladies and gentlemen, everyone is requested to bring a "Date" someone else may be interested in - so wrangle up your best sibling, co-worker, or friend!
This is going to be an evening of a little sass, a lot of class, and you're all required to dress your best! A decadent Prime Rib and Yorkshire dinner will be served and
Dayna Manning and
Miss Quincy will be serenading the crowd with some broken-hearted music. There will be fun and games to be sure everyone gets to know each other, including a round of The Dating Game hosted by Mark Bodner. And, if you do have your eye on a nice lonely heart you can win a "Date" to see Merle Haggard in concert courtesy of Northern Groove and the Encana Events Centre.
So get dolled and suited up and be prepared to mingle and get to know your fellow lonely hearts - who knows you may meet your Valentine just in time!
The Lonely Hearts Club Dinner starts at 7pm at Whole Wheat n' Honey on Saturday, February 13. Tickets are $50 and include dinner, entertainment, and games. There are only 50 tickets available and you can scoop yours up at Whole Wheat n' Honey.
