Friends and family of Travis Marsh are gearing up to "shed the dark" on original art and music for Travscend 2010.
Travscend is scheduled for Saturday, February 20 at The Lido, and is an annual event meant to showcase original music and art and to honour Travis, a creative young musician who passed away suddenly 2 years ago. What better way to honour someone who was passionate about music and art than by simply playing music and creating art as best and hard as you can?
Starting at 7pm, Travscend has a full line-up of local musicians and artists set to play and display the night into oblivion. The night will begin with acoustic performances from various local musicians and end with full bands taking the stage. So far, the confirmed performers are Ben Marsh, Cameron Davidson, Derek Skauge, Inroads, Wauntid, The Resurrect Christ Foundation, and Naughtlia ... but I'd expect a few more to be added to that list!
In addition to live music, original artwork will be on display throughout the night. Charity Langevin, one of the artists whose work will be shown, is organizing the art component of the evening. They're still on active lookout for emerging local visual artists to participate, so if you're interested in having your work displayed make sure you contact Charity ASAP (250-262-9538).
