Want to take your loved one out for a special Valentines night? Enjoy a glass of wine, cheesecake and a trip around the world as you are swept away with the magic rhythm of the Montreal Guitar Trio. The South Peace Community Arts Council invites you to join us as we welcome Montreal Guitar Trio to Dawson Creek performing at the Kiwanis Performing Arts Centre on Wednesday, February the 3rd at 7:30pm, doors open at 7pm. Tickets are $25 each, available at the Art Gallery 782-2601, KPAC 782-9325 and at the door. This is our second concert of our Overture Concert Series 2009/10 season.

MG3 has been described by the CBC as "the hottest guitar ensemble in Canada.” Formed in 1998 by guitarists Glenn Lévesque, Marc Morin, and Sébastien Dufour. Their vision of marrying passionate virtuosity with a stealthy sense of humour quickly charmed the ears of seasoned critics and captured the hearts of their ever-expanding audiences. Establishing themselves as a force of rejuvenation and cross-pollenization between various musical forms. Their eclectic, energetic music takes listeners on a journey through the world's many cultures from the mysterious & exotic melodies of India to the hot rhythms of South America, Spain, the Balkans, the Orient, traditional Quebec, and... Hollywood. They recorded their first CD “Meninas” in 1999. In 2002, a concert performance entitled "The Heat of the Day" was nominated for Concert of the Year at the prestigious Prix Opus; which celebrates musical excellence in Quebec. It was this concert which inspired the Trio's second album “Garam Masala” earning them a nomination for Disc of the Year. In the fall of 2006 their self titled CD was released to critical acclaim. Since then they have been performing in concerts in North America and Europe, many of which have been recorded and broadcast by national networks such as CBC, BRAVO, Radio-France, the Romanian National Television and Société Radio-Canada.

Check them out on myspace or their website.
