Lindsay Pratt, one of the Peace Region's musical darlings, will be taking the stage in her hometown for the second ever concert at the Lone Wolf Golf Club in Taylor, BC (the first show featured Miss Quincy and Lorissa Scriven).
The show will be on Thursday, January 28 at 7pm and tickets are $5 in advance or $10 at the door.
The gods and goddesses of music must have been present at Lindsay's birth, because she is one of those folks who has the gift of a naturally and effortlessly amazing voice. I've seen her shine singing everything from bluegrass to dirty blues to cute folk-pop with her ukulele, and her original tunes showcase this diversity and willingness to explore all types of music. Rumour has it she'll be recording some of these original beauties in the coming weeks and months to enter RocKIN the Peace 2010 and to finally give us the album we've been waiting for since we first heard Goddamn at Open Mic last year!
Lindsay can most often be found performing with The Egan's Ramblers, and the Lone Wolf show will be no exception. The Egan's Ramblers is a collective sort of group, depending on who is around at the moment to ramble, but is most often composed of Nick Baccante (guitar, mandolin), Mike Odowichuck (vocals, guitar), and Todd Koponyas (drums). Together, the Egan's Ramblers and Lindsay Pratt deliver killer sets of foot-stompin' bluegrass, soulful blues, straight up old-time rock n' roll, and Lindsay originals. They have performed at countless Open Mics and jams, the first ever Rock n' Roll House Party, the November Rock n' Roll House Party, and with Calgary's Six West at the Pomeroy Hotel's New Year's Eve bash.
For those of you who haven't heard the song mentioned above, and to give us all something to listen to until Lindsay gets her pipes in the recording studio, here is a scratch track of Goddamn (featuring Nick Baccante on guitar):
